This picture cannot be explained.
Or, maybe it can.
A little random something I put together.
Photo of me by John, and vice versa. Yay teamwork!

The brushes that I really liked on Brusheezy weren't compatible with my version of photoshop, so I couldn't use any of the ones I downloaded. Instead, I resorted to DeviantArt which hardly had any nifty water/fire brushes, as this picture was supposed to be a Fire Bender versus Water Bender. Avatar: The Last Airbender inspired of course. I tried. Oh well. lol

This photo's by John. Editing by me of course. I figured it'd look good in movie style. Haha.

I really do enjoy this picture. It may not be the most fabulous picture, but I like it. It's fun.

I made use of the tutorial on photoshopessentials to give John better skin, and brighten his eyes. High pass and Unsharp Mask have become two new friends in photoshop. Although, I did have to use the blur tool here and there. Also tweaked the curves to give it more contrast between the highlights and shadows.

And here's a random extra picture because it's also fun 8D

Quick Edits

A quick pic. Nothing special here. Not yet anyway. Natural lighting does wonders. I hardly had to edit anything away. Just a bit of blurring over imperfections, use of the highpass filter, and unsharp mask.

To be filled something more professional later.

Senior Ex #1

I seem to be uploading more digital art over photographs. Mm.

My theme for Senior Ex is going to be "unveiling"/"into the light". And they're all going to be pieces of October, my faun/satyr character. For this, I wanted it to be dark, with his hair melding into the blackness. His skin is gray in a ghostlike manner, with glowing yellow eyes. It's supposed to be like he's stepping out of the dark.

I'm not sure if I want to add his horns yet or not. I'm sure if I'm entirely satisfied with how his face turned out. He looks a little too androgynous for my taste, as he's supposed to be subtly masculine, but not girly in any way. Mmm...we'll see how this plays out.

Principles of Design

Page layout consisting of the principles of design. These photos were not taken specifically for this assignment, but were selected and pulled down from my art page with the project in mind.
I enjoyed this project because it gave me an excuse to use photos of my dolls since I don't take pictures of them as often anymore [poor outdoor lighting mostly, and one needs a new face-up].
Since the principles were just principles and fairly broad, it left me a wide range to choose pictures from. Actual layout was easy enough to achieve only because of the set up the pictures, as a majority of them were vertical, it just seemed right to keep them in the middle all next to each other. It just fit better.
On a slightly off topic note, the pictures chosen were a crop of my favorite pictures too. Especially the one chosen for texture. I almost used it for color, until I found the bright pink photo. Second fave goes to direction, because he's not centered and even though he's not real, there's still this dark and solemn mood to it. If the image was horizontal, full body or not, it wouldn't have the same effect. The principles of design do mean something after all. Ha.
