My Choice photoshoot "Hanging Around"

I like free choice photoshoots.
Two of my dolls don't have heads because they're being repainted, and with their bodies lying around, it was kind of weird. I wanted to do a shoot making use of their bodies, because even without their heads, I still love my dolls. For this shoot, I tried to make it sort of morbid, with bodies and hands hanging from a line. I decided not to play to scale, wanting them to be what they were, dolls. Vestige, being my only complete doll at the moment, got to be star of the shoot once more. Even though he's not a real person, I wanted to play on the thought of toys and inanimate objects having a soul. So here, Vestige, a doll is frightened by the sight of the basically dismembered dolls, not wanting to be next.

And two extra shots, for fun.

Wolf

Used the...hot light? I don't really know which light it was. It was just the only one that was out at the time. The shadow and John's eyes were very intense, and it made his eyes look like a bright blue, kind of like a husky. These two factors, I thought, seemed dark and wolf like, hence the simple addiction of a wolf into the picture. Originally, I had wanted to make the wolf's head part of his own, like he was changing or something like that, but it didn't work out too well. I actually like how this looks more, since its like he has an inner beast instead. Altered the coloring of the original portrait to make it more blue and cool. Yeah.

And an extra edit. Because I like this photo, even if it is a snapshot.

Painted Face

Some odd days ago, John wanted me to paint his face like they did on America's Next Top Model. I did that, as evident by my Maya Angelou photograph. But also on that day, we painted up my face too just for the hell of it. After taking photos of each other, I wanted to take some of myself in my own style of photography since John and I have very different views.
Today I thought, these look kind of plain on their own, so I wanted to spice things up a bit and photoshop them. Lots of experimenting with different things and brushes and layers and all those other good things.
I think I managed to hit every season but spring haha.

stylish shoes

I swear, dolls have the best clothes. And really stylish shoes. I'm so jealous.

Pixels

Branching out into Pixel work on Photoshop. It's a very time consuming project, and I have lots of respect for Pixel artists. I've got a project in mind, I just gotta get the main images actually done first on paper or photograph before I start the pixeling process...

The one above is originally from a drawing.
This one's base came from a photograph.

Still much to do and learn. Mmm...

ANTDM Intro

On DenOfAngels.com, an ABJD forum, I entered into a contest in the Fun&Games section. Called America's Next Top Doll Model, inspired by Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model, I thought it'd be pretty fun, since I LOVE ANTM. Of my two dolls, I entered Vestige, since I hardly ever take pictures of him, which is really a shame since he's gorgeous. After the initial auditions [a character profile for the doll as well as a picture or two] he made the Top 13 [ranked 5th if I remember].

Our first assignment was to photograph our doll dressed only in ribbon against a white backdrop. Fail for me, I couldn't find white space in my house and resorted to using a scarf, which was kinda see through. Uncool. The point of this photograph is for the composite photo in which all the dolls would be shopped together in a collage and as the competition progresses and dolls are eliminated, their picture would be removed from the main photo. Because of this, I didn't bother trying to make the composition gorgeous since there were strict guidelines of it being a full body standing shot and it would be edited into a larger picture anyway.

The picture above was just one for me. <3

I hope Vestige makes it to the top. Haha.

This is the image I chose for his final shot.

I really need to blush his body...he's so white.

Spring Boredom -Miyavi Style-

What a boring day. I hate sundays, I never have anything to do.
Meh. Put on some make up and went outside to take some random pictures. I'm seriously loving that skin improving technique from photoshop essentials. It's just love, seriously.

mm...side walk.

and because i thought this picture made a good CD cover :]

Background Brushing

"Lyke, wtf?"

Johnny all confused. Now we know why. He sees things, now we see them. Crazzyy.

Used the inkdrop brush and border brushes [that i don't know the name of]. Kept the inkdrops dark blue to match his shirt. If the background weren't already white, I'd have used white instead.

Mm. Not much to say.

Fight

This picture cannot be explained.
Or, maybe it can.
A little random something I put together.
Photo of me by John, and vice versa. Yay teamwork!

The brushes that I really liked on Brusheezy weren't compatible with my version of photoshop, so I couldn't use any of the ones I downloaded. Instead, I resorted to DeviantArt which hardly had any nifty water/fire brushes, as this picture was supposed to be a Fire Bender versus Water Bender. Avatar: The Last Airbender inspired of course. I tried. Oh well. lol

This photo's by John. Editing by me of course. I figured it'd look good in movie style. Haha.

Near-Perfection

I really do enjoy this picture. It may not be the most fabulous picture, but I like it. It's fun.

I made use of the tutorial on photoshopessentials to give John better skin, and brighten his eyes. High pass and Unsharp Mask have become two new friends in photoshop. Although, I did have to use the blur tool here and there. Also tweaked the curves to give it more contrast between the highlights and shadows.

And here's a random extra picture because it's also fun 8D

Quick Edits

A quick pic. Nothing special here. Not yet anyway. Natural lighting does wonders. I hardly had to edit anything away. Just a bit of blurring over imperfections, use of the highpass filter, and unsharp mask.

To be filled something more professional later.

Senior Ex #1

I seem to be uploading more digital art over photographs. Mm.

My theme for Senior Ex is going to be "unveiling"/"into the light". And they're all going to be pieces of October, my faun/satyr character. For this, I wanted it to be dark, with his hair melding into the blackness. His skin is gray in a ghostlike manner, with glowing yellow eyes. It's supposed to be like he's stepping out of the dark.

I'm not sure if I want to add his horns yet or not. I'm sure if I'm entirely satisfied with how his face turned out. He looks a little too androgynous for my taste, as he's supposed to be subtly masculine, but not girly in any way. Mmm...we'll see how this plays out.
